3M ICD-10 Code Translation Tool Expands TriZetto Advantage 10 Services to Simplify and Accelerate Payers' ICD-10 Migration

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - March 18, 2010 - The TriZetto Group, Inc., today announced that it has signed an agreement with 3M Health Information Systems giving TriZetto certain exclusivity to include the 3M™ ICD-10 Code Translation Tool with several new services for payers under its TriZetto Advantage 10™ Services family.

TriZetto will initially integrate the 3M technology in a provider contract modeling service and ICD-10 translation mapping service. These new services can help streamline and simplify healthcare payers' efforts to not only comply with the ICD-10 and 5010 requirements, but also to leverage this important migration to help improve the cost and quality of care for their members.

The two new services leveraging the 3M ICD-10 Code Translation Tool are targeted to be available in the second quarter of 2010, and will be offered as software-as-a-service (SaaS).

A new provider contract modeling service for payers will map ICD-9 to ICD-10 codes and identify gaps that payers and providers can work together to fill to mitigate potential payment disruptions from missing, bundled or unmapped codes. An additional ICD-10 translation mapping service will use the 3M tool in conjunction with TriZetto's own ICD Translation Manager to assist healthcare payers in completing their ICD-10 mapping project by creating equivalency maps between ICD-9 and ICD-10 and mapping them back to the core administration platform.

These new services supplement seven existing TriZetto Advantage 10 services, including the most recently launched TriZetto Advantage 10 Compliance Plus™. All services are designed to help payers get ahead of the compliance deadline.

In Gartner's November 19, 2009 report titled "Predicts 2010: Insurers Must Invest in Growth and Transformation Projects to Stay Competitive," Gartner analysts collectively said that while it "has seen an increased interest in ICD-10 since the beginning of 2009, most U.S. health insurance companies remain in the planning phase. CIOs at healthcare insurers must accelerate their efforts and begin implementing ICD-10 now." TriZetto Advantage 10 Services are designed to help speed and simplify payers migrating of their operations to ICD-10.

TriZetto Advantage 10 Services

In 2009, TriZetto introduced a new suite of services to help its customers, as well as payers using other vendors' or in-house enterprise administration systems, comply with 5010 and ICD-10 standards requirements. TriZetto Advantage 10 Services help simplify and accelerate this large and difficult process for payers.

But TriZetto went a step further, enhancing the Advantage 10 Services to help payers leverage this required migration to enhance services and relationships for its members and providers, and to build competitive advantage in their markets.

Payers can purchase TriZetto Advantage 10 Services individually or in bundled packages. The packaged offerings include Strategic Roadmap (Readiness through Business Alignment), Compliance Tools (Readiness through Systems Alignment) and IHM-Enabled (Readiness through Transition). For information on TriZetto Advantage 10 Services and how to leverage 5010 and ICD-10 migration to power IHM initiatives, please call 1-800-569-1222 or visit http://www.trizetto.com/ICD-10.

"TriZetto is working hard to help payers prepare for the ICD-10 deadlines," said executive vice president Mike Jenner. "With products such as Facets™ and QNXT™ core administration platforms supporting 5010 and ICD-10 in their 4.7 releases, plus a unique set of services designed to help payers migrate to ICD-10, TriZetto customers will be ahead of their peers in their ability to not just comply with the mandates, but leverage the code sets to drive more effective programs including rewards and incentives, wellness and disease management for their members."

3M ICD-10 Code Translation Tool

The 3M™ ICD-10 Code Translation Tool helps convert ICD-9 based applications to ICD-10. Offering easy-to-use menu-driven features that simplify the translation process, the software can be used to convert existing information systems and software applications to ICD-10, or to create customized mappings for specific clinical and business needs.

The 3M ICD-10 Code Translation Tool identifies all reasonable ICD-10 alternatives for the ICD-9 codes held in an information system, and performs automated mappings where a simple one-to-one map exists. It then isolates the remaining codes and provides the user with reference information and data to assist in fine-tuning the final translations to ICD-10. The software also integrates the complete content of the public domain ICD-10 General Equivalence Mappings (GEMs) published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Using the proven 3M tool for our payer services gives our Advantage 10 offerings unique value for TriZetto's customers, giving them a competitive advantage for faster, more reliable migration and services for their members and network providers," said Greg Larson, TriZetto's director of services product management."
