TriZetto Executive Vision Summit Highlights Consumer Retail Healthcare Market

Forum Helps Health Plan Leaders Address Industry's Key Trends, Technology Challenges

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – October 26, 2006 – At its 2006 Executive Vision Summit, The TriZetto Group Inc. (NASDAQ: TZIX) hosted the top leaders of health plans representing over 80 million members to address the key technology issues surrounding the emerging consumer retail healthcare market. TriZetto's annual forum is part of the company's commitment to guide discussions and offer solutions to critical industry trends impacting healthcare payers. TriZetto systems currently serve one-third of the 100 largest health plans in the U.S.

"The TriZetto Executive Vision Summit brings together some of the best minds in healthcare, engaging both our customers and distinguished industry experts in a dialogue about the technology roadmap for success," said Kathleen Earley, president and chief operating officer for TriZetto. "Each year, we strive to provide an exceptional program that tackles the most pertinent and timely topics in healthcare. At TriZetto, we leverage our intimate understanding of healthcare and the payer's business to deploy products and services that help keep our customers ahead of the curve."

The theme for the 2006 Vision Summit was "Consumer Retail Healthcare: Understanding constituent relationships across the supply chain." Dan Spirek, chief solutions officer for TriZetto, explained that the consumer retail movement extends far beyond the narrow set of products commonly referred to as consumer-directed benefit plans.

"In the consumer retail world, health plans must surpass their historical role as 'administrative scorekeepers,'" said Spirek. "Their internal focus has to shift to that of health and wellness facilitator, a transformation that will require payers to fundamentally change the way they do business."

To succeed, health plans must view how consumers, employers, brokers and providers actually use the healthcare system. These organizations need to look at the system through the eyes of these constituents who finance, provide and consume the care.

Continuing its thought leadership, TriZetto also unveiled a white paper summarizing the conference's key themes. Titled, "Competing in the Retail Market: Winning the Constituent Game," the report provides a 360-degree view of the market, tying together all the key business components for payers. The white paper analyzes and discusses what changes health plans must make to address the needs of their constituents in the new world of consumer retail, if they hope to remain at the center of the supply chain and continue to provide value.

"Ultimately, the winners in the consumer retail healthcare market will succeed based upon their ability to foster positive relationships, create efficiency, and produce superior outcomes for all their constituents," added Spirek. "To accomplish this, they'll need a comprehensive technology platform, and that's where TriZetto is leading the charge."

The Vision Summit featured keynote presenter Tom Main, managing partner and founder of ChapterHouse, a consulting firm specializing in the healthcare industry, and 12 guest speakers representing the perspectives of the constituent groups: employer, provider, broker, consumer, and health plan. TriZetto Chairman and CEO Jeff Margolis closed the Vision Summit with his annual top healthcare information-technology predictions for 2007.

The 2006 TriZetto Executive Vision Summit took place at the Ritz-Carlton Resort in Amelia Island, Fla. For more information about TriZetto's comprehensive health-plan technology solutions, or next year's Vision Summit, please visit www.trizetto.com.
